Buddha Statue

The 45-foot long statue of "Buddha" has carved on the north slope of the rock. This was called "Sathapena Plimaya" of the Buddha. Kalinga / Maga invasion has resulted in a large migration from Anuradhapura to Polonnaruwa. Therefore a large monastery and palace have been abandoned in the forest. Hence, the artist might leave without applying the appropriate decoration to the design.

PothGula

Located on a high rock, the “PothGula” is called the Book Library. There were 12 buildings in the monastery. And almost all are built to the same as the main structures. The area where the monks lived was 250 acres. The area surrounded by water and may be used for “Pohoyakarma” or rich rituals.

Samadhi Buddhas Statue

The "Samadhi" statue carved out of large rocks and placed near the Bodhiya. And it features the late Anuradhapura period. The statue is about 8 feet tall, and the statue also tells the creation was unfinished. The small statues on either side of the main statue let us suggest that they were probably built in the later part of Anuradhapura. This statue was decorated with the arch of "MakaraThorana". The roof of the statue was destroyed long ago by enemy invasions. Today's treasure hunters have been severely damaged.
